Sea turtle and tortoise conservation is essential for protecting the health of both marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Sea turtles help maintain balanced ocean environments by controlling jellyfish populations and keeping seagrass beds and coral reefs healthy, which in turn support countless other marine species. Tortoises, on the other hand, play a key role on land by dispersing seeds and shaping vegetation in their habitats. Both face significant threats, including habitat destruction, plastic pollution, poaching, and illegal pet trade. Many species are now endangered or critically endangered. Conserving sea turtles and tortoises not only helps preserve biodiversity but also supports ecological stability and cultural heritage. Through global cooperation, education, and sustainable practices, we can ensure these ancient creatures continue to thrive in the wild.
